Don't Hold Onto The Old Pony!

Slicked designer ponytails work well if you desire it simple or sophisticated, but the main purpose is for longevity. I would say two weeks tops for me. OK, for other people, I'll give you three weeks. No longer....and that all depends on how the style holds up. It varies depending on if you received a fresh relaxer the same day. Then, yes, three weeks maybe fine. But otherwise, Ladies, please let the old go and go get a fresh hairstyle.
Don't Hold On To The Old Pony when.....

1. the smoothness of your hair begin to crack/separate.
2. when you have to keep applying gel to reslick it.
3. it looks dull and flaky.

Please don't let it get to this extreme. The least you can do is shampoo your own hair, blow it out and style until you can get to your hairstylist.

Get Rid of Dry Flaky Scalp

Many people who experience dry flaky scalp are always looking for a topical cream to get rid of the problem. One must realize that the problem is not without but within.

Your scalp has pores through which each hair strand grows. It is also apart of one of the largest eliminating channels of the body, the skin. So if you're not getting the proper nutrition and water intake on a daily basis, it will effect the scalp. Water helps to lubricate the skin/scalp and will eliminate dry and flaky skin.

Therefore, do the easy and most cost effective thing to get rid of the problem of dry flaky scalp.......DRINK WATER!

DON'T CUT TO STUNT!

Timing is everything, Ladies, when you go to the Hair salon for a "New Cut"! And NOW IS NOT the right time of the month. This is the time of the month when things seem to wind down and decrease. It is a time where projects should be becoming to a close. It's also a time where people are a little more sensitive and/or emotional.....there's more, but you should get the picture.

So, think about it. If it is a time of decreasing, or closing of projects, would you want to get a "NEW" funky hair cut NOW or wait til timing is more effective in doing new things for yourself.....like creating a New Look with your hair. Cutting your hair at this time will only stunt it's growth. This is why some women have challenges with their hair growing back full like "it used to be".

Ask your Hairstylist when is the best time to cut your hair? If they don't have the answer, find another Hairstylist.

DANGERS OF BRAIDS!

Although most women use braids to cut down on time invested doing their hair or going to the Hair salon on a regular basis, one must take percaution. Yes, I agree that having your hair braided saves so much time, especially if you have a busy schedule. However, too much of what we call a "GOOD THING" isn't GOOD AT ALL!

This may not apply to you, but someone you know-pass it on.
Think about it, look at the diameter of each hair strand of natural hair to the diameter of braided hair that is added on. Is it in equal amount or more? Many times it's more, if you be honest, even with micro braids. Also, how tight are the braids? Do you or someone you know experience head tension when the braids are completed?.....I'm just keeping it light on this question.

Also and lastly, compare the fullness of your hair or someone you know from 5 yrs. ago to now; 2 yrs. ago to now. Is their a difference in fullnes? If so, you/they must reconsider getting braids because your hair is in a "TRAMA STATE"...AND YOU/THEY WILL EVENTUALLY LOSE IT"

Beautifully Cut for a Man!

I ran into a friend who I haven't seen for a few years. She orginally wore her hair in "sista girl locks". She decided to cut her hair, but I didn't know to what extreme until I saw her.

It is o.k. to change, cutting your locks for a new beginning, but women should never cut their hair like a man. Leave the men cuts just for who they were created for, MEN! Don't get me wrong, her hair was sharp, but "beautifully cut for a man".

There ar so many georgeous hair cuts for women.
